Woman seriously injured in one-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire

Part of the A93 has been blocked in Aberdeenshire after a crash left a woman with serious injuries.

The incident happened at 9.25am on Friday in Inchmarlo, just outside Banchory.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the trapped female driver from a green Renault Megane.

Only one vehicle was involved.

Diversions have been put in place through Glassel Road after the route was blocked in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said her injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening.

She has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Two fire engines and 11 firefighters attended the scene.
