A community knitting group has brought a colourful look to Braemar.

Deeside Knitwits have been playing their part in this year’s Braemar Creative Arts Festival.

The knitters have been inviting people to explore their marine-themed creations located at various points throughout the village over the last two weeks.

This year’s installation was inspired by Aberdeenshire Council’s tagline “From Mountain to Sea” - instead bringing the sea to the mountains.

The display - on show until this Saturday - includes a shoal of fish swimming along the bridge in the centre of the village, a giant octopus knitted by various people, a mermaid on a rock with various crustaceans, and Finding Nemo and Finding Dory trails. All the knitted items go on sale this Sunday (October 23) at the Braemarket.

Proceeds will go to local charities.

Over the past four years more than £4000 has been raised from the knitting extravaganza.
