Guests enjoyed the glitz and glamour of a well-supported event, which raised over £80,000 for Banchory Sports Village.
A dinner for 270 guests at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa on Tuesday, November 4, saw overwhelming support from local businesses and individuals as they took part in two auctions and a raffle.
A spokesperson for Banchory Sports Village said: “We are delighted with the support on the night from local businesses.
“We really do appreciate the fantastic backing that we got from them.”
A question and answer session was also a popular part of the evening’s programme, with Fraser Klein, footballer Andrew Considine and Robbie Simpson taking to the stage for some quick-fire quizzing.
Ian Thain did a wonderful job as the auctioneer for the night.
The money raised at the dinner and auction has significantly helped the project as it works towards its fundraising target of £700,000.
The new sports facility, to be located at Hill of Banchory, has been approved by Aberdeenshire Council in their Capital Plan on condition that a substantial financial contribution of £700,00 is made by the community.
The complex will include a six lane swimming pool, a learner pool , a four court sports hall and more, with the Sports Pavilion expected to open to the public in 2017.
