Strachan School and Parent Council hosted a busy coffee morning at the village hall recently and in doing so raised a huge £470 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Not only were guests treated to a bottomless cup of tea or coffee, but also plates of delicious homebakes, after which they could browse stalls of local craftspeople, raffles and gifts made by the school children.
The children enjoyed a uniform-free day, which allowed them to join in fully with the green-theme of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The school and PTA would like to thank everyone who donated baked goods or raffle prizes and those who came along to support the event and enjoy the efforts put in by a community of which we can all be proud.
Strachan School head teacher Ruth Duddy, said: “It just shows what a small community can do when they pull together to help those in need!”
