Deeside’s Scottish Slimmers class manager Karin Corrigan was one of three North-east managers who swept the boards at the recent Scottish Slimmers Slimmer of the Year Awards ceremony.
Aberdeen-based Scottish Slimmers held its national awards ceremony in Glasgow earlier this month and three local managers scooped the ceremony’s most prestigious awards thanks to their successful slimming classes. Britain’s Got Talent nursery-rhyme star Edward Reid presented the awards.
Strachan’s Karin Corrigan won an award for outstanding weight loss in her classes in Banchory, Aboyne, Stonehaven and across Aberdeen.
Karin is an advocate of the company’s easy to follow eating plan as she has recently lost almost five stone herself.
She said: “Nothing is banned, which makes losing weight much easier!”
Karin, who has been running slimming classes in Banchory for over five years, dedicated her award to her supportive Scottish Slimmers class members.
“Some people join Scottish Slimmers just to drop a dress size or to slim down for a special occasion but, for most people, the ultimate achievement at Scottish Slimmers is to reach their ideal, healthy weight – and it is the encouragement, advice and support within the classes which can make that target achievable,” Karin said.
Karin’s colleague, Sylvia Strachan, received Scottish Slimmers top honour for the third year in a row after being announced as Scottish Slimmers’ Class Manager of the Year, and fellow weight loss expert Alison Wilson also won an award for achieving superior weight losses in her classes in the city and shire.
Company director Isobel McRorie, who hosted the awards, says that the North-east class managers do a fantastic job in encouraging their members.
She said: “We know that behind every successful slimmer, is a fabulous Scottish Slimmers Class manager.”
