‘Tell Us Once’ programme launched

A new national service being delivered in Aberdeenshire is to make it easier for residents in Deeside and Donside to inform council services and other organisations following a birth or bereavement.

The ‘Tell Us Once’ programme is designed to reduce the number of times members of the public have to provide information to the local authority and other agencies.

By providing registration information just once to Aberdeenshire Council, the authority will be able to share key information with several agencies, subject to the customer’s permission.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Director of Corporate Services, Christine Gore, said: “Whenever there’s a birth or bereavement there are lots of things that need to be done in terms of contacting government departments and local council services.

“The ‘Tell Us Once’ programme aims to simplify that process and reduce the number of times people need to provide information.
