“Tobacco buddy” to help quitters

Smokers in Aboyne and Tarland who wish to kick the habit will have help from their very own “tobacco buddy”.

The Tobacco Buddy project is ran by CVS Aberdeenshire, an organisation that represents local voluntary sector organisations.

It aims to help people to quit by asking ex-smokers to share how they gave up.

The meetings are informal and tea and sandwiches will be served.

Roisin Daly, volunteer co-ordinator of the Tobacco Buddy project, said: “There are cessation services available but people don’t necessarily know about them so it’s a good place to come and find out the options.”

The Aboyne information evening will be at the Boat Inn at 7.30 pm on November 12.

The Tarland’s evening is at the Aberdeen Arms at 7.30 on November 15.
