Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision which occurred last week on the South Deeside Road (B9077) just outside Aberdeen.

At approximately 7.05pm on Tuesday January 13 a White van, which has been described as similar to that of either a white Mercedes Sprinter or Volkswagen Crafter van, collided with a black Ford Focus motor car close to the Blairs area and failed to stop at the scene.

As a result of the collision the driver of the black Ford Focus received minor injuries to his shoulder and arm but did not require medical treatment.

The black Ford Focus sustained scrapes and dents along the driver’s side of the vehicle. The estimated value of the damage caused is a three figure sum.

Investigating Officer PC Skelly said: “It was dark at the time of the incident but there were a number of drivers using the road at this time, both heading into Aberdeen and also driving out of Aberdeen. I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving along this section of road at the time and may be able to help identify the van and/or the driver.

“At the point the incident happened the black Ford Focus was travelling East into Aberdeen and the white van was travelling West out of the city. The collision occurred at the Blairs area of the road within the new speed restriction section.

“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 or if they wish to remain anonymous they can call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
