A North- east transport body is looking for new board members to help drive the area’s roads and infrastructure forward.

The North East of Scotland Transport Partnership (Nestrans) currently has two vacancies for non-Councillor Board Members.

Nestrans is one of seven statutory Regional Transport Partnerships, established under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005, to help with to transport planning and delivery.

The new board members will be required to help shape the future of transport strategy within Aberdeen City and Shire.

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside Councillor Peter Argyle, Nestrans Chair said: “This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to assist in the strategic work of the Regional Transport Partnership. The successful applicants will be able to contribute to the continuing aspirations and operations of the Board whilst bringing fresh perspectives to matters.”

It consists of eight Councillor Members, four each nominated by the constituent Councils and four non-Councillor Members.

The appointment of the two non-Councillor Board Members will run until 30 April 2019, subject to review after two years. The successful candidate will be expected to attend up to six meetings annually. Closing date for applications is October 18. Visit www.nestrans.org.uk to apply
