A Banchory mother got an unexpected surprise while completing two marathons in the space of a month - as her partner proposed.
Jayne Eccles, 34, completed the London Marathon in April before running the 26.2 mile race in Edinburgh last month month.
The support worker, who works at Linn Moor School in Culter, had hoped to raise £1,000 for The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) but has raised almost £1500. Jayne’s son Marcus was diagnosed with dyslexia as he was leaving primary school.
Jayne, who lives in Banchory with her fiance Kyle, Marcus and daughter Holly said the proposal was an unexpected surprise.
She said: “I completed London in 4hrs 47mins and there was a fantastic party atmosphere which helped. At the end of the London Marathon Kyle proposed so it was double celebrations!
“I completed the Edinburgh race in 4hr 48mins and it was much tougher because of the weather.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, offered words of encouragement and put up with my world revolving around training these past months.
“I also want to say a special thanks to Scotgrip (UK) who gave me a very generous £300 which took me over my £1000 target.”
