The Upper Deeside Art Society is to hold its annual general meeting on June 27 at The Victory Hall in Aboyne at 7.30 when the guest speaker will be John Berry who will give a talk on artist John Constable.
Everyone is free to come, members and non-members alike.
Since it was formed in 1992, the aim of the Society has been to encourage an interest in art and to provide opportunities to practice and exhibit art on Deeside. It is a lively society, with members working in an ever-widening range of media including painting, drawing, printing, textiles and sculpture.
Beginners and improvers are especially welcome, as the Society offers a regular programme of demonstrations and talks as well as practical workshops.
It also offers the chance to meet other artists on a friendly and informal basis. All talks and demonstrations are open to non-members but workshops and visits are open to members only.
Currently, there is an exhibition of member’s paintings at Balmoral, which will run until July 31. There is also an annual exhibition held in the Victoria Hall in Ballater at the end of August.
The society is open to those living in the AB31, AB34 and AB35 areas.
Anyone interested in joining The Upper Deeside Art Society should e-mail or telephone the secretary, Jane Williamson (01330 823158)(firstname.lastname@example.org) or come along to the AGM.
