Friends and family of a Banchory man injured in a horrific accident last year are holding a Valentine’s Disco to raise funds for his journey to recovery.

Local man Grant Morrison, suffered serious injuries in April 2014 when a tyre exploded while he was fixing his vintage tractor.

The explosion left Grant with a fractured skull, swelling on the brain and two broken vertebrae in his back, as well as other injuries.

‘Grant’s Journey’ has been set up to assist Grant in his fight back to having a normal life.

The Deeside community has shown continued support for the fund, set up by his aunt and uncle, Michael and Heather Morrison.

After being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Spinal Unit in Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital to received specialist care last May, Grant is now back home in Deeside and ‘Grant’s Journey’ is still raising funds for his future needs and care.

The Valentine’s Disco will be held on Saturday, February 14, at the Burnett Arms Hotel, Banchory.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from Mike Morrison on 07900233548.
