Video: Aberdeen Back to the Future geek makes working drone from replica DeLorean

Self-acclaimed geek Barry Thackery (37), from Aberdeen has built his own replica hoverboard and a pair of drones designed to look exactly like the famous DeLorean from the Back to the Future films.

The film buff spent months perfecting the appearance of Marty’s hoverboard to give it an accurate holographic look from the films.

He has also constructed two aerial drones modelled on the iconic DeLorean car from the trilogy.

The larger one is a third of the size of the time machine and flies unmanned from a planned flight route via his laptop.

While the smaller scale drone had a crash landing on its first run but can now reach a speed up to 50 miles per hour.
