Sauchen-based housing developer Kirkwood Homes, with Stewart Milne Homes, will host a one-day public exhibition in Millbank Hall to seek feedback on plans for new housing in Sauchen.
Proposals for the development of upto 50 residential units on land to the east of Main Street will be displayed at the exhibition, from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday (February 21). The site has already been the subject of consultation via the Local Development Plan (LDP) process and the site has been allocated in the Proposed Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan.
Allan Rae, land director at Kirkwood Homes, said: “At Kirkwood Homes we are fully aware of the importance of community consultation that forms an integral element of the planning process. Prior to the submission of any forthcoming planning
application it is therefore essential that we provide the local community with the opportunity to view and importantly comment on the proposals.
Shelley Thomson, planning and land manager at Stewart Milne Homes said: “We believe that the proposed site to the east of Main Street is well placed to allow sympathetic growth of the village whilst fully respecting and complementing the existing development pattern. We are also fully aware of the need to sustain local services, such as the primary school, in Sauchen and believe that appropriately-scaled development will assist in meeting these objectives.”
Allan Rae added: “We look forward to meeting the local community at the forthcoming exhibition where we will display our proposals and aspirations for the future extension of the village. Public opinion is crucial to the consultation process and as such there will be feedback forms available to allow individuals to input their views.”
