Volunteers required in Aboyne shop

A number of volunteering opportunities are available at the Home-start Deeside shop in Aboyne.

Staff say the Mid Deeside shop continues to be a great attraction to shoppers from far and wide.

Senior co-ordinator Linda Clark said: “Not only are the donations of good quality, but the prices are within the pocket of anyone who cares to shop there. “The charity is reliant on the good will of donors from all backgrounds and the shop, like other fundraisers, is pivotal to the continuance of the unique support given to families.”

Like all good volunteering opportunities, the shop is dependant on volunteers, particularly at this time of year, when volunteers are going on holiday or getting involved with their own family duties as grandparents etc.

Shop manager Margaret Ward said: “I would ask anyone who feels they can do a morning or afternoon shift to contact me on (013398) 87290.

“I can guarantee them a warm welcome in a friendly atmosphere. Training and advice is always on hand.”

Home-Start Deeside is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the positive sides to family life.

Their support is free, confidential and non-judgmental and almost 25% of families refer themselves to Home-Start.
