A long-awaited development of new residential housing on North Deeside Road in Milltimber is now scheduled to begin construction in summer 2015.

Planning permission in principle was granted in 2014 when developers CALA Homes (North) lodged a detailed planning submission for around 550 homes plus a new primary school and commercial elements.

They have now unveiled the first stages of their plans for the new community on land at Oldfold Farm.

Mike Naysmith, managing director at CALA Homes (North), said: “Our development in Milltimber will breathe new life into what is already a well-established, prestigious area, fitting in seamlessly with neighbourhoods already in the area while adding much-needed amenities that will help to create a real community feel.

‘‘As well as a new, larger primary school and commercial elements within the development, we will introduce attractive open spaces, landscaping, and materials that will all complement the existing area.”

The initial phase of the masterplan for the landmark site will consist of 61 properties, ranging from three-bedroom terraced houses to large, detached five-bedroom family homes including garages with accommodation above. It is believed the Milltimber development will appeal to many different types of homebuyer.
