A young Deeside man died early on Sunday morning (June 14) after a two-vehicle crash on the A93 Kincardine O’Neil to Aboyne road.

Named locally as 18 year old Jordan Milne, the motorist was travelling alone in a black MG when he became involved in a collision with a silver Mercedes Benz.

The MG became airborne, landed on it’s roof and caught fire.

Friends have paid tribute to the young man, belived to be from Lumphanan, on social media, and with flowers at the site of the accident.

Four people who were travelling in the Mercedes were injured in the collision and were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Two fire engines from Deeside stations Banchory and Aboyne were called to the scene to extinguish the flames from the MG.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Spokesperson said: “the crews made the scene safe.”

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “At around 01:09 hours this morning (Sunday June 14), Police Scotland received a report of a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the A93 near Aboyne, just west of Kincardine O’ Neil.

“Emergency services attended the collision and the road was closed for approximately eight hours.

“Sadly, as a result of the collision a male driver of a vehicle has died. No further information will be issued until next of kin are fully informed.”
