SIX juniors of Tarland Golf Club celebrated the club's Centenary by completing 100 holes of golf in a day on Sunday.
Starting at 5 a.m., the six boys worked their way round, stopping for a quick break mid morning and again for lunch, completing their challenge in just short of 16 hours at around 8.50 p.m.

The idea of Ben Thompsett was to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the challenge of playing 100 holes on the day of the club's Centenary was thought a fitting way to celebrate the club's 100th birthday.

Playing In high temperatures thoughout the day, the boys were finally greeted on the 100th tee by members of the Ballater & District Pipe Band and were then escorted down the last fairway to the final green and into the clubhouse, for a well-deserved meal and presentation.

The boys would like thank all those who have supported them in raising well over £1000 and also to those who helped on the day, especially the caddies and the pipe band.

The six players and their total gross scores are as follows: Daniel Thompsett( H'cap 5) 396; Gordon Hay ( H'cap 9) 443; Cameron Diack ( H'cap 12) 446; Ben Thompsett ( H'cap 10) 452; Malcolm Diack ( H'cap 30) 511; Andy Hillier ( H'cap 19) 521
