Banchory gymnasts back with the medals

ELEVEN gymnasts from Banchory Gymnastics Club put in a medal winning performance at the Granitehill Beginner and Intermediate competition held at the Beach Leisure centre in Aberdeen earlier this month.

The girls won 15 medals and 5 trophies between them.

Results were as follows: 8/9 Beginners – Lucy Grimble - 1st on floor, 1st overall; Iona Yule - 1st on vault, 2nd overall;
10/11 Beginners – Jennifer Dow – 3rd overall; Shannon Holt – 3rd on vault; Laura Smith also competed. The team was 4th overall.

12/14 Beginners – Emily White – 1st on vault, 2nd overall; Suraya Fawcett – 3rd on floor, 3rd on vault, 3rd overall;
The team of Emily, Suraya, Annie Ross and Lauren Carnegie came 2nd in the team competition. Josephine Christie and Erin Lloyd also competed.

Jovita Fawcett, from Banchory, competing for Garioch gymnastics club was 4th overall and a member of the bronze medal winning team in the 10/11 Intermediate competition.

Jenny Lusby, from Crathes, who also competes for Garioch, was a member of the silver medal winning team in the 8/9 Intermediate competition.
