A TOTAL of 17 members of Banchory Gymnastics Club competed at the Granitehill beginner and intermediate competition held at the Beach Leisure Centre earlier this month.
On the day, 19 team and individual medals and four overall trophies were won by the girls.
The results were as follows: 8/9 beginners: Team A (Claire McGarvey, Alanya Hammond, Emma Halliwell and Beth Whatford) - Team 4th; 10/11 beginners: Iona Yule - gold on floor, bronze on vault, gold overall; Lucy Grimble - silver on vault, bronze overall; Laura Smith - gold on vault; Team A (Iona Yule, Lucy Grimble, Laura Smith and Jennifer Dow) - Team gold; Team B (Isla Kitching, Alix Taylor, Caitlin Fraser and Gillian Harrison) - Team fourth; 12/14 beginners: Team A (Annie Ross, Shannon Holt and Kate Harrison) – team silver; 15+ beginners: Suraya Fawcett - gold on floor, gold on vault, gold overall; Emily White - bronze on floor, bronze on vault, bronze overall.
