TWO members of Banchory Stonehaven Athletic Club claimed a haul of four medals at the Scottish Schools Athletics Championships in Grangemouth.
Kathryn Christie from Finzean and a pupil at Aboyne Accademy had a memorable couple of days beginning with the under 14 age group 200m when, after qualifing for the final, she ran the race of her life to come in first with a time of 25.75 thus breaki
ng a Banchory Stonehaven club record which had stood for 23 years.

Kathryn then followed this up in the 100m and again won gold with another personal best time of 12.77.

Ellie Workman representing Robert Gordons and fresh from her win in the Scottish Schools Pentathlon last weekend, also had a fine couple of days in the under 17 age group with a gold medal performace in the high jump after a personal best outdoor jump of 1.68m.

Ellie followed this up with a silver medal in the javelin and in doing so broke her own club record with a throw of 30.30m.

Banchory Sonehaven also had success on Sunday at the Under 23 Scottish Championships which also took place at Grangemouth.

Emma Cloggie from Torphins took gold in the 400m in a time of 57.49 9 (breaking the record set in 1985) and then a bronze in the 200m thus capping a very successful weekend for three north east girls.
