FIFTY TWO young golfers from seven Academies took part in the Aberdeenshire Schools Golf Tournament held at Oldmeldrum Golf Club on Sunday.

The teams from Aboyne, Alford, Banchory, Mackie, Mearns, Meldrum and Turriff managed to play some good golf in extreme weather conditions in the 5 1/2 hours that they were out on the course.

Because of the waterlogged conditions it was decided that to be fair to all the players for handicap purposes, it should be reductions only.
