Battling Banchory defeat Cruden Bay

Banchory St.Ternan 2
v 1 Cruden Bay

Cruden Bay were the first visitors of the season to Milton Park, but due to roadworks delaying their arrival, the kick off was put back ten minutes.

Manager Sandy Carrol had injury problems before the game. Centre half pairing from last season, Josh Robertson and Darren Reid were both missing from the line up. Josh has a broken foot and will be out for 6-8 weeks.

Debuts were handed to James Flaherty and Stuart Rogie in midfield, with captain Darren Pyper and Ryan Whelan filling the centre half roles.

There were further injury woes five minutes into the game when keeper Murray Buchan and centre forward Danny Ross collided defending a corner. Although both tried to continue they both had to be replaced by Rhys Bain and Scott Davie.

Despite this set back, Andrew Close opened the scoring for Banchory, but Cruden Bay equalised before half time. After the break, Rogie was replaced by Sam Smith who then proceeded to score the winner.
