Culter had to come from behind to beat an improved Sunnybank team that included ex-Culter player Marc Small in their ranks.

Crosbie had the first real chance on 3 minutes but his snap shot was saved by home keeper Knowles.

On 8 minutes Lyon’s header was saved by Farquhar but the ball landed at the feet of HUTCHINSON 8 yards out who drove the ball home.

The home side then doubled their lead on 16 minutes when DICK was left unmarked to head home a Lyon corner.

Three minutes later Ross CROSBIE curled a great 16 yard shot into the top corner to bring Culter back into the game.

But in the 21st minute DICK was left unmarked at the back post to sweep the ball home to give Sunnybank a 3-1 lead.

Crosbie hit the post with a sliding effort before McKimmie also hit the post from a corner as they away team struggled to find their way back into the match.

With half time approaching Crosbie had a spectacular overhead kick easily saved by Knowles.

Just after the break Sunnybank’s Knowles fluffed a goal kick straight to McWilliam who raced clear of the defence but his shot just scraped the upright.

Culter pulled one back on 56 minutes. The ball bounced about the home box before landing at the feet of Lewis McKIMMIE who thumped his shot high into the net from close range.

Small was then lucky to see his header from Donald’s throw in rebound off his on crossbar.

It was all level in the 67th minute, again another goalmouth scramble and the ball landed to Jamie McALLISTER who turned and slid the ball into the corner of the net from close range.

It was all one way traffic now and a high ball into the box in the 76th minute saw Sunnybank defender Small push McWilliam and the referee pointed straight to the spot. Lewis McKIMMIE stepped up to smash the ball home from 12 yards.

Seivwright sent a header over the bar from a McKimmie corner as Culter held out for the three points.
