Deeside’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end when they went down 11-8 to Aberdeen Uni Medics at Woodend.

The first half was a good contest with the home team showing a bit of flair but it was met with good defence and some good counter attacking rugby.

Deeside were unable to show the form which had taken them to the top of the league but went ahead through an unconverted try.

The Medics put Deeside under constant pressure but the Deeside men stood firm before conceding a vital try. With a try apiece it came down to penalty kicks and conversions to decide the fate of the game with the Medics edging Deeside out by three points but the Deeside remain at the top of the table.
