Culter come unstuck at Hive

Culter had four trialists on the bench as they kicked off against second placed Stonehaven.

The away team started brightly with Seivwright heading over from a good position but it was Stonehaven who went in front after 12 minutes.

In only their second attack the Culter defence failed to clear their lines and Martin SHAND’s deflected looping shot gave McIntosh no chance.

Darren McAllister limped off and was replaced by Andy Campbell and in the 34 minutes Culter scored a deserved equaliser.

After some good passing McWilliam’s cross from the right was hammered home by the in-rushing Greg DONALD.

Martin Shand should have put the home team back in front just on the half time whistle when his header in front of an open goal flew over the bar.

The Hive were back in front on 46 minutes, McIntosh had the save of the match to deny Alexander but the ball broke to HORNE who rifled the ball high into the net despite the best efforts of McArthur to keep it out.

Two minutes later it was 3-1. Horne’s poor free kick made it’s way though a rack of players and found ALEXANDER who slid the ball home.

It was all one way and on 63 minutes SINCLAIR drove the ball into the net via the post from 18 yards.

Craik responded with a great 30 yard volley that wasn’t too far away.

Cowell’s deep cross on 69 minutes produced a great headed goal by Greg DONALD but it wasn’t long before the Hive regained their three goal advantage.

Shand went down easily in the box and HORNE stepped up to thump the ball into the net from 12 yards to finish the scoring in the 73rd minute.
