Deeside and Donside athletes are being urged to register their teams for the 2011 Cairngorm Challenge which takes place at Cairngorms National Park on September 10.

Those would be challengers are being reminded that the early bird offer ends on Saturday (April 30).

Register your team before then to receive the special discounted rate of £50 per person.

Barnardo’s Cairngorm Challenge, now in its fifth year, is inviting teams of four to take part in the challenge – three routes, two adventures one challenge - up Scotland’s sixth highest mountain and through Cairngorms National Park, with its breathtaking landscapes and tough terrain.

The team of four will be split up with two members hiking and the other two biking.

Four times world champion and Barnardo’s supporter, Daly Thompson, said: “The Cairngorm Challenge is a great experience in an area of spectacular scenery.

“It’s a great way to get fit and have fun with friends, colleagues or even the family.

“What’s more, you’ll help transform the lives of vulnerable children in Scotland and the UK.”

He added: “It’s not only a great event. Barnardo’s offer you great fundraising and training support.”

You can join Barnardo’s for the pre event pasta party and celebratory barbecue afterwards.
