Kimberley Beveridge, playing over her home course, pipped Sophie Alexander (Deeside) for first scratch prize in last weekend’s Aberdeenshire girls monthly medal at a sunny Aboyne Golf Club.
Both players finished with scores of 77 and both had the same inward half totals but Kimberley finally won the countback on the better last six.
Third with a 78 was Tegan Seivwright (Deeside). Fourth was Deeside’s Megan Clyne with an 82 and this was Megan’s last Aberdeenshire girls competition before she leaves to become a student at Montevallo University in Alabama.
The best net score was a 71, achieved by both Sophie Alexander, playing off 6, and Molly Stewart (Murcar Links), who has 12 of a handicap.
Olivia Borwick (McDonald Ellon) won the long-driving prize with a tee shot at the uphill 18th green which must have been about 240yd. Her ball came to rest over the back of the green.
