Banchory Volleyball Club junior member Kirsten Brown has been selected by the Scottish Volleyball Association (SVA) to represent East & North Scotland Girls at volleyball in the national UK School Games to be held in Sheffield later this year.

The talented Banchory Academy S3 pupil, who has been a club member for 2 years, was selected during Scottish national trials which were attended by the cream of volleyball talent from Central belt schools with strong volleyball cultures and is the first representative that Banchory has ever had at the games.

Club junior coaches, Lorne Taylor and Andy Wilkins said they are extremely proud of Kirsten’s achievement and dedication.

Lorne said: ”Kirsten has done herself and the club proud, she has always displayed a lot of potential, has worked hard and really deserves her chance. Her achievement has helped put Banchory and North-east junior volleyball on the map.”

The club take a training break during the summer holidays but sessions will be starting again when the school returns. Anyone interested should contact Lorne or Andy on 01330 824018 or 01330 825133.
