The weather blessed the opening of the new academy where 70 competitors of all ages enjoyed the duathlon and the mini Beast organised by Knockburn manager Tom Wilson and Firetrail Events.
The new academy was well tested serving complimentary food to all with donations to the new Hill of Banchory swimming pool opening late 2017.
The private funding is £150K short.
The day’s highlight was Jane Moncreiff, Chief Executive Officer of Triathlon Scotland who travelled from Stirling to unveil a plaque and this visit coincided with Jane’s 25 years in sporting administration.
The new cycle track was also privileged by sporting coaches Ashley Pearson and Sarah Rowe. Moira McIntosh made the threesome to cut the tape.
