Deeside goalkeeper Becky Flaherty has signed for Aberdeen Ladies FC first team ahead of the new SWPL season which starts in March.

Aberdeen LFC’s first game will be a league cup fixture away to Inverness CT followed two weeks later by their first SWPL game at home to Celtic.

Fifteen-year-old Becky has joined Aberdeen after a very successful season in goal with Buchan Ladies FC.

She helped the team remain in the SWPL for a second season and was also voted SWFL Premier League Player of the Year.

In signing for Aberdeen LFC, Becky has turned down interest from other premier league teams, including Glasgow City Ladies FC.

She will also travel to Portugal with the Scotland Women’s U16 Squad.

The squad will be staying in the Algarve and play three internationals against the Netherlands, Norway and Austria.

The youngster played in the same tournament last year where Scotland were the winners.
