53 runners complete full Morven Hill Race

Hill Runners enjoyed a clear but windy day for the Morven Hill Races last Saturday, 24th Sept, - with 53 runners doing the full course to the top, 4 doing the Half Morven and 5 U14 / U12s doing the Mini Morven race.

Local runner James Espie was first home, in a time of 45’ 10”, leading the Deeside Runners to the team prize (with Calum Kitching and Peter Henry). James was also first to the Top in 28’ 40”. Phil Mowbray of HBT came in second overall and first Veteran 40, in a time of 51’ 21”.

Stephanie Provan of Deeside Runners was first lady, in 53’ 45”; followed by Veronique Oldham (Cosmics), also first Vet Lady in 58’ 26”. Cosmics ladies (Veronique, along with Nadin Bethan and Sue Taylor) won the ladies team prize.

In the Half Morven, local runner Josh Benton was first junior with an excellent time of 31’ 08” to take the junior boys trophy and Kirsty Oldham of Aberdeen AAC won the junior girls trophy with a time of 38’ 09”.

In the U12s, Cluan Mardall and Freya Mowbray won in 9’ 11” and 12’ 20” respectively.
