Four of the twenty pupils selected by the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association (SSSA) to represent Scotland at this week’s World Schools Championships are from the local club Gordon Skiers based at Alford and the Lecht.

Team Scotland won the overall FairPlay award, along with 4th-6th positions in all four Alpine Ski Team categories after the alpine nations of Austria, France, Germany and Italy.

The four members from the Gordon Skiers club were Rachel Brown (Banchory Academy), Kieran Troup (Cults Academy), Beth Whatford (Westhill Academy) and Ruby Still (Robert Gordon’s College).

All athletes competed in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. Teams from all over the world competed, including: Chile; Belgium; Switzerland; England; Slovenia; Russia, and Croatia.
