Local women will have the opportunity to try a different method of keep-fit when new kickboxing classes are launched at Aboyne Community centre.

Classes, starting this Sunday, October 19, at the masonic hall from 6-7pm for 5-8 year olds, 7-8pm for ages 9-15 and 8-9pm for ladies only, will be taught by coach Jennifer Laird.

Jennifer is a qualified personal trainer and member of the world-affiliated body builders association (WABBA).

She is also an NVQ level 3 (advanced) personal trainer and a black label full graded coach trained by Aleshandrew Arruda
Costa.

Her classes, lasting one hour each, are non-contact and for ladies and children at the moment.

They will consist of work on pads (kicking and punching) and core work/ abdominal.

Jennifer, who has 15 years of kickboxing coaching experience, says her new classes have already generated a great deal of excitment and engagement.

She said: “Kickboxing is an excellent all over body workout.
