The sun shone for most of the day at Lumphanan as an almost record number of players enjoyed a round over a course in excellent condition and thereafter retired to the clubhouse to enjoy some freshly prepared home baking and cooking by the new season caterers.

A returning pair triumphed with Ron Whyte from Deeside and his daughter, Lauren, from Hazlehead, shooting a 74 to win the scratch prize with Duncan and Linda Keir from the home club taking the first handicap with a net 62, winning also the best local prize.
