Have your say

Are you looking for a fun family pastime where you can enjoy the glorious outdoors, get plenty fresh air and exercise and which can be taken at your own pace at any age?

Do your children enjoy a challenge, while learning new skills and making new friends? Local Orienteering club Maroc are holding a four week block for families who are interested in finding out what orienteering is all about. The block, starting on 26 April will include coaching sessions along with the chance to take part in local events - no special equipment is required.

Maroc has a very strong junior section regularly taking part in competitions locally and further afield. Many club members travelled with their families to the Lake District over Easter to take part in the JK2015 International Orienteering Festival where the junior teams came first and second in the Junior relay in a field of 34 from all over Great Britain and Ireland.

Also this week a group of 14 Maroc members from Banchory Academy will be jetting off to Turkey to take part in the ISF World Schools Orienteering Championships, representing Scotland.

As well as their infectious enthusiasm and hard work, the juniors success is due to the excellent coaching from club volunteer coaches, the range of local events and the amazing locations we have here right on our doorstep on Royal Deeside.

Make the most of our beautiful countryside with something the whole family can enjoy and sign up today. Details are on the Mar Orienteering Facebook page and on our website www.marocscotland.org.uk. We look forward to meeting you!
