Scottish Rugby’s new Fun, Simple and Social version of non-contact rugby will make it’s debut in a few months time in Banchory.

Deeside will be one of twenty hubs across Scotland that will host the game which is designed for all abilities and ages.

Each hub will run their own session timings so anyone interested in taking part will be sure to find one that suits their schedule.

With eight simple rules, it’s a great game for all abilities and all ages.

The Tartan Touch season begins in May at 20 and anyone can join in the fun and get fit at a hub this summer for only £3.

The aim of the game is to touch the ball down over opponent’s goal line.

To do this, keep possession by avoiding being touched.

Possession is lost if: Touched 6 times, Ball leaves the pitch, Ball passed forward, dropped forward, or kicked forward or Foul play by team in possession.

When touched, either: Offload within two steps or two seconds (no offside from the offload) or place ball on ground (offside line created, must be passed away by touched player or a team mate.)

At ball turnovers, defenders should be level with or behind the ball until after the pass is gathered by the next player.

Turnovers taken where infringements/touch occurred.

Foul play includes: obstruction, inappropriate touchers, time wasting, disrespect.

At the start of each half and after foul play, defender must be back 5m.
