Last Sunday the Ballater Boules Challenge, considering the weather conditions, had a healthy turn out of players.

At the start of proceedings the weather was reasonably good despite the cold temperatures, during play the weather changed and sleet and snow showers became the norm for the rest of the rounds . The playing surface was both muddy and icy that once again proved difficult for all participants. However, the winning teams beat the weather and their opponents. The winners of the main competition were ‘Chris & Ed’ (Chris Perrin & Ed Bloor), runners up were the ‘Sluie Rangers’ (Gordon Riddler & Sandy Mitchell).

The Plate Competition winners were ‘A & L’ (Alastair Whitson & Les Alderson), the runners up were ‘25’ (Lorraine & Serge Geraud) If you would like to take part the next meeting will take place on Sunday 8th March at Monaltrie Park, Ballater at 10.30am.
