Runners take to the hills

And they're off
And they're off

Hill Runners enjoyed a lovely day at Morven Hill Race last Saturday, 27th Sept, - with 57 runners doing the full course to the top, 1 Junior doing the Half Morven and 7 U12s doing the Mini Morven.

Brian Marshall from Haddington was first home, in a time of 49’ 16”, followed by Iain Stewart of Westerlands in 49’ 28” and James Espie of Deeside Runners in 49’ 51”. Iain was first to the Top in 31’ 35”. Cosmics Hill Runners took the men’s team prize (Chris Hill, Ben Abrahams and Jason Williamson).

Clare Whitehead of Deeside Runners was first lady home, in 51’ 39”; followed by Veronique Oldham (Cosmics), first Vet Lady home in 58’ 31”, then Ruth Mackenzie (Deeside) and Lisa Leonard (Garioch). Deeside Runners (Clare, Ruth and Lina Mardell) took the ladies team prize. Lisa Leonard gave a remarkable display of endurance, having just landed from Las Vegas in the morning!

In the Half Morven, Liam Clark (Aberdeen AAC) ran very well over an extended course for the Junior boys trophy - due to poor directions given at the start!

In the Boys U12s the junior Whiteheads, Lucas (BSAC) and Marlon (Ballater Mudblasters, showed their pedigree, finishing in 10’ 13” and 10’ 47”, followed by Oscar Williamson (Huntly NSC) in 12’ 55”.

In the Girls U12s Katie Clark (AAAC) won in 11’ 23”, followed by Izzy Parnaby (BSAC) in 12’ 33” and Elsa Parnaby in 12’ 38”.
