It was a great start to the campaign for the Alford U15 Boys in the Schools Cup, Grampian League with a win over Aboyne Academy 55 – 20 in the first match of the League in the new Alford Campus Sports Hall, followed by a win over Mackie Academy 80 – 30 on 12 November.

Caroline McIver, Support Services Co-ordinator at Alford Community Campus said: “Thank you to all the parents who came along to support the team at the home game, the boys always appreciate this.

“In both games, the confidence of the younger members of the team is growing throughout the match, with some great drives, lay ups and baskets combined with some excellent defensive play.

“Special mention to Samuel Bellarby who scored 50 points in the last game, an Alford Academy team record. We wish the team every success in their next game against Harlaw Academy on Monday 23 November.”
