Torphins welcomed bogey team from the previous two seasons, West End Electrical, to Kinker for the second league game of this new season.

Torphins attacked straight from the off. A long throw in from Allardyce was met by a smart volley by BRUCE leaving the keeper no chance.

On 10 minutes the Phins doubled their lead. Johnstone broke from the left and set BROWN running. The forward did well to stay on his feet after a dangerous sliding tackle and buried the ball in the bottom corner.

On 15 minutes Bruce was brought down inside the box and Captain MICHIE confidently smashed the ball into the top right corner from the resulting penalty.

On 20 minutes it was 4–0. D Cruickshank swung a corner in from the left and TRAVERS rose to head the ball home.

On 26 minutes Allan from the heart of defence played a wonderful through ball to BROWN who made no mistake in doubling his tally.

A great ball from Strachan put Allardyce down the right hand side and hit the byline before knocking back to BRUCE who beat the keeper at the near post.

Just before half time the forward completed his hat trick. A long ball from Geddes was headed on by Brown and BRUCE scored one on one with the West End goalkeeper. Mathieson replaced Taylor in central defence.

West End’s first attack of the game saw them pull a goal back. An attacker beat the offside trap and went round the on-rushing Geddes and slipped the ball into the empty net.

Brown was then sent racing down the right and a cross failed to beat the first defender, who failed to clear his lines and MICHIE pounced to hammer the ball home for his second of the game.

On 70 minutes Brown completed his hat trick. A long throw in was met by BROWN who’s glancing header beat the West End goalkeeper.

Michie was replaced by Mitchell and Allardyce rested for Ewen. Ewen broke down the right and his cross found attacker Bruce who was lucky to see his sclaffed shot turned in by the sliding TRAVERS, his second of the game.

Just on full time Torphins scored their 11th. Travers slipped a ball through to BRUCE who scored his 4th goal of the game, beating the keeper one on one.
