Upper Deeside swimmers take home 28 medals from Buckie meet

A squad of 10 Upper Deeside swimmers aged 11-15 travelled to Buckie at the weekend for the annual Age Group Championships hosted by Buckie ASC.

Between them the UD team achieved no fewer than 28 podium places, with outstanding performances from Brad Arthur (15) from Coull who took eight gold medals, and Ossian Arthut (11) taking four gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

During the course of the weekend, the swimmers kept a close eye on total team points, and UD were delighted to learn on Sunday evening that they had repeated their success of last year, managing to move up from fifth place after session one, into third place, behind Garioch and Elgin by the end of session four.

Euan Mcgowan (11) Gold in 200 fly, Silver in 400 IM, Bronze in 100 bk.

Morgan Eriksson (11) Bronze in 400 fr, 400 IM, 100 fly.

Kirsten Knight (14) Bronze in 200 brs, 400 IM.
