Once again some of Deeside’s finest young musicians are getting in tune with hopes of winning a top national competition.
Banchory-Ternan Rotary Club, in conjunction with Banchory Academy, are presenting again their Young Musician of the Year competition.
This year the event will be held at Banchory Christian Fellowship Church’s main auditorium on Thursday, January 30.
Doors open at 7pm and the concert commences at 7.30 pm.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served during the interval.
A Rotary spokesperson said: “A wonderful evening’s entertainment of vocal talent is guaranteed and instrumental music will showcase the high standard of local youngsters... it is one of the highlight’s of our year. The church is really a tremendous venue.”
The competition is well supported in the Deeside town with an audience of around 200 packing the auditorium last year.
It comes as a local heat to the UK wide Rotary International UK Young Musician of the Year competition.
After the local heat comes the regional heat and finally the national competition.
Sponsored by London superstore Harrods the competition aims to helps to give youngsters the experience of performing on a public stage, an opportunity to showcase their musical talent and, perhaps most importantly, impartial feedback and assessment of performance by experienced adjudicators.
