Craigievar Film Club enters its 10th season next month as it returns to its regular screenings at Tullynessle and Forbes Hall.
This year the film club will be supporting the Hall Committee in the showing of some community films.
The first of these will be Sunshine on Leith, which will be shown at 7.30pm on Friday, September 26.
This musical uses the songs of the Proclaimers to tell the story of two young soldiers who return to civilian life in Edinburgh after a tour in Afghanistan. Entry will be £5 per person and there will be refreshments for sale.
The next community film showing will be Gravity on November 15.
Film Club itself opens for the 10th season on October 9 with a showing of Philomena at 7.30pm in Tullynessle and Forbes Hall. Following a true story Judi Dench takes the title role of an older lady in search of the son she gave up for adoption decades earlier. Steve Coogan is the discredited journalist reluctantly taking up the ‘human interest’ story. The season continues fortnightly through the winter with such titles as Saving Mr Banks, The Dallas Buyers Club and lesser-known films like Locke and The Rocket. Admission £4 on the door or season membership £30.
