The Director of a Deeside arts venue has announced that she is leaving after two years at her post.

Nicola Henderson will be leaving her post at the helm of Banchory’s Woodend Barn.

In a statement the Barn said: “Nicola joined the Barn staff from Timespan, the museum and art gallery in Helmsdale, Sutherland, and has brought energy and dedication to the role of Barn Director. During her time at the Barn, Woodend Arts has substantially increased both the number and diversity of performances at the Barn as well as our involvement in well-regarded projects such as Atomic Doric and Deeside Lavender. In addition to our Banchory based activities, in the same period the Barn has extended its outreach work in more far-flung Deeside communities.”

Mark Hope, Chairman of Woodend Arts said: “These are challenging and exciting times for the Barn with an ambitious programme ahead of us, building upon our history as a community arts organisation involving a dedicated team of seven staff and over fifty volunteers. The Board of Woodend Arts Limited is grateful to Nicola for

her contribution to the Barn’s ongoing success and wishes her every success for the future.”
