Pipers and drummers of all abilities are currently being recruited for two local pipe bands whose scarlet kilts have brightened the local area for over 70 years.

Both 47th Culter Boys Brigade Pipe Band and Culter & District Pipe Band are hoping to recruit pipers, tenor drummers, snare drummers and drum majors to their ranks for the following sections: Novice Juniors (under-18s) of all abilities, and Grade 4 upwards experienced pipers and drummers.

The BB band was first established in 1938, becoming members of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association by 1980. After a period of rapid growth, Culter & District Pipe Band started.

Culter & District’s Pipe Major Neil-John Robertson said: “All our band members are enthusiastic and want to see the organisation thrive and perform well in competitions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and rapidly expanding pipe band organisation.”

The bands practise on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Culter Mill Sports and Social Club and for further information contact culterpb@gmail.com.
