Russian pianist in Aboyne

A young Russian pianist is to give a Deeside concert later this month.

Pavel Kolesnikov has been invited to appear at Aboyne Community Theatre by Aboyne and Deeside Festival on Saturday, September 17, at 7.30pm.

The theatre has a Bechstein Grand Piano, of recital standard.

The concert is being supported by the Jennie S Gordon Foundation, and brings to Aboyne one of classical piano playing’s young and brightest stars with a programme of music by CPE Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy.

Pavel began to study piano and violin at the age of six. He entered the Moscow State Conservatoire in 2007.

From there he went on to London’s Royal College of Music, and Brussels’ Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.

He was made Prize Laureate of the Honens Prize for Piano in 2012.
