Holmes comes to Deeside

Award-winning outdoor theatre company Illyria is bringing its summer production of The Hound of the Baskervilles to Deeside.

Kincardine Castle will host the performance of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale on Wednesday, August 15, against the backdrop of the Deeside country house in Kincardine O’Neil.

Andrew Bradford, from Kincardine Castle, said: “Sherlock Holmes stories are hugely popular and The Hound of the Baskervilles has a bit of something for everyone.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming people with their picnics and deckchairs for a really fun night of theatre.

“Illyria has a great reputation for outdoor theatre and we’re really pleased to be able to bring this production to the area during the summer holidays.”

Illyria’s fast and furious madcap style is should entertain the whole family, from theatre devotees to live performance newcomers.

Oliver Gray, artistic director, said: “We’re really pleased to be performing at Kincardine Castle and can’t wait see how the audience reacts.”

The performance begins at 7pm with the castle gates open from 5.30pm for the audience to enjoy a pre-performance picnic.
