The hall was packed with performers and listeners from Elgin to Kirriemuir, with comperes Allan Taylor, of Alford, and Geordie Murison, of Netherley, keeping the music, fun and entertaiment cracking along at a good pace.

The highlights were a poem from five-year-old Chloe Stewart, of Huntly, and the fiddle playing of 16-year-old George Davidson, of Fyvie, a pupil of Tarland fiddler, Paul Anderson, who played one of Paul’s compositions about St Kilda.

There was an auction of three pictures by Miguel Padilla, of Fyvie, which raised almost £200 for a TMSA project to take the songs and music out to schools and the younger generation.
