FOLD Craft and Design Store reopened yesterday (Thursday).

In line with government guidelines, all the necessary measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff.

Maria Laidlaw, craft manager, said: “We are delighted to be re-opening and once again supporting and showcasing makers, working both locally and nationally in the fields of contemporary craft and design.

"The quietness of the last few months has allowed us to liaise with our existing creative community to bring in new products.

"We’re also excited to be introducing some new makers and products to the store.”

Marie added: "In addition, we’ve been working behind the scenes to create a new online sales platform for FOLD – watch this space!”

Officially opened by the CEO of Visit Aberdeenshire in 2019, Chris Foy said:"FOLD is a fantastic asset for tourism in Aberdeenshire.

"High quality, local arts and crafts are sure to be a hit with our visitors."

Available to buy in FOLD is the Hamewares Collection.

A range of unique contemporary craft products specially commissioned by the Barn to celebrate the rich environment and cultural distinctiveness of Royal Deeside and Aberdeenshire.

Other makers featured in FOLD include: Megan Falconer, Donna Wilson, Mimi Hammill, Red Ruby Rose Bags, Scarlet Knitwear, Ceramiker and Helen Ruth Scarves amongst many more!

Opening hours will be Thursday – Saturday 12pm – 4pm.

Staff continue to work behind the scenes on various fascinating projects with artists, staff, volunteers and other groups.

It has been great to stay connected and creative when we cannot meet face to face.

When visitors return to the Barn they will also see some differences in the building as they have been able to undertake some improvement works during this period of closure.

Plans are also underway to show films at the Barn from the end of May.
